New introduction: V-COIL notch Inserting Tool

Last time, we presented the new V-COIL notch Tangless Thread Inserts and discussed them in detail. Today we would like to present you the matching and also new V-COIL notch Installation Tool and focus on the entire application.

By the way: the installation tool was developed by our senior boss Peter Völkel himself!

The procedure for installing the inserts is similar to what you already know from the “normal” V-COIL:

  • Drill core hole
  • Cut the holding thread
  • Screw in the thread insert
  • READY !!

As you can see, V-COIL notch eliminates the need for tang breaking. The V-COIL notch Tangless Thread Inserts are installed in the holding thread with the help of the innovative V-COIL notch Installation Tool. We would like to explain this last step in detail below.

Usage of the V-COIL notch Installation Tool

The V-COIL notch Tangless Thread Insert must first be screwed onto the installation tool. Since the notches are present at both ends of the thread insert, it is not necessary to pay attention to which end of the thread insert is facing forward in the installation direction. The installation tool is equipped with a spring-loaded blade which engages in the driver notch when the thread insert is screwed on, thereby fixing and holding it in place. The V-COIL notch Installation Tool is equipped with a depth stop nut, which is adjusted to the desired screw-in depth by a lock nut.

The thread insert is screwed into the holding thread with the installation tool. As the installation tool is equipped with a ¼” hexagon on the drive side, it can be operated with all common bit holders. Once the desired screw-in depth has been reached, the installation tool simply needs to be unscrewed again. The spring-loaded blade of the installation tool automatically retracts from the notch of the thread insert and releases the thread insert.

Compatibility of V-COIL notch

  • All V-COIL STI taps (for creating holding threads) are fully compatible with the V-COIL notch thread repair system.
  • All core hole recommendations for V-COIL thread repair systems also apply to V-COIL notch.
  • The regular V-COIL Thread Inserts (type S + SL) are not compatible with the V-COIL notch installation tool. In the same way, V-COIL notch Tangless Thread Inserts are not compatible with installation tool for other V-COIL thread repair systems.

The new V-COIL notch Installation Tool is of course also immediately available from stock, as usual.
