What is V-COIL notch?
The tangless evolution of the V-COIL thread insert technology.
Traditionally, wire thread inserts are equipped with a tang which is required for installation and then has to be broken off and removed after the insert is in place.
With V-COIL notch, this tang is no longer needed. Instead, the inserts have small driver notches on the inside of both ends. The specially developed V-COIL notch installation tool engages in these notches, holds the insert securely and screws it into the receiving thread.
After installation, there is no tang to break off, no loose metal piece to find and remove, and no risk that a forgotten tang remains in the component.
