What does "free-running" mean?
"Free-running" means that the thread inserts have a spiral shape without a locking function. The installed threads are free to move for standard screws and bolts, and they provide a low-friction and strong connection.
What is the difference between a refill pack and a repair kit?
A refill pack contains only the thread inserts in a specific size. A repair kit (or set) also includes the matching tools: a special drill bit, a tap, an installation tool, and a tang breaker.
Why is the length specified as "1.5 D"?
The length designation "1.5 D" is a standardized abbreviation. The "D" stands for the nominal diameter of the thread (in this case, 3 mm). The length of the insert is therefore 1.5 times the diameter, which is 1.5 x 3 mm = 4.5 mm.
