Mf (metric fine)

Thread plug gauges for metric fine thread

A fine thread has a smaller pitch than the coarse thread at the same nominal diameter. It holds preload better, adjusts more finely and stays put where vibration would loosen a coarse thread; in return the thread root is shallower and less forgiving. A plug gauge checks an internal thread. The go side must screw in, the no-go side must not — which settles the question in seconds, without a caliper and without arithmetic.

VÖLKEL offers 415 versions, from M 2 x 0.35 to M 110 x 4.0.
