STI thread gauges for UNF, Unified fine thread
UNF has more threads per inch than UNC at the same diameter. It carries better in thin-walled parts and holds preload under vibration — common in automotive and aerospace work. STI gauges check the oversized thread that later receives a thread insert. It is a series of its own, because the receiving thread is larger than the working thread that follows.
