Round dies and hexagon die nuts for NPT, NPTF and NPS pipe threads
NPT is the tapered American pipe thread and seals in the thread. NPTF is the dryseal version, in which the flanks deform as the joint is tightened. NPS is parallel and needs a gasket of its own. Dies cut external threads on bolts, rods and pipes. The round die sits in a die holder; the hexagon die nut is turned with an open-ended spanner and therefore also works during assembly.
