Step by step

  6. Continue the cut with controlled rotation while keeping the holder aligned to the workpiece axis.
  7. Reverse briefly at intervals to clear chips from the cutting edges and then continue with steady feed.
  8. Back the die off fully after the required thread length is reached.
  9. Clean the thread and verify the fit with the mating component or a suitable external thread gauge.
