The Spiral Point Form B for Clean Work

All taps in this set feature a spiral point according to Form B. This specific geometry is ideal for through holes. It acts like a chisel at the tip of the tap, which pushes the chips cleanly forward and out of the drilled hole. This effectively minimizes the risk of chip jamming and potential tool breakage—a crucial advantage for clean and safe work results.

Can I also use this set for blind holes?

While taps with a spiral point (Form B) are optimal for through holes, they are less suitable for blind holes. For blind holes, we recommend taps with a spiral flute (Form C), as these transport the chips upwards and out of the hole.

Is the extra cost for a TiN-coated set worth it?

Yes, the extra cost is worthwhile in most cases. If you frequently cut threads or work with harder, more demanding materials, the higher purchase price is quickly offset by the significantly longer service life, higher cutting speeds, and increased process reliability.
