Machine tap sets
A machine tap set gathers the common sizes of a series in one case, usually M 3 to M 12 to DIN 371 and DIN 376. You choose between form B for through holes and form C with right-hand spiral for blind holes, between standard HSSE and the coloured-ring versions green, blue, white and black ring by material, and between square shank and HexDrive hexagon shank for bit holders and cordless drills.

Which set for which work?
Form B with spiral point pushes the chips forward and is the set for through holes; form C with 15° or 35° right-hand spiral draws the chips back and belongs to blind holes. If you need both, take both sets or a coloured-ring set whose taps are designed for through and blind holes. The decision is explained in Form B or form C.
By material
Green ring sets for unalloyed steels, blue ring for tough and alloyed steels, white ring for stainless steels, black ring for grey cast iron. The assignment in detail is under machine taps with coloured ring.
HexDrive
The HexDrive sets P.K.335 (form B) and P.K.336 (form C 15° RSP) in HSS-E run in bit holders, quick-change chucks and cordless drills. For the 111th anniversary there is the HexDrive set form B as a limited edition.
