1. Inspect the thread: Clean the damaged thread and remove debris or burrs.
2. Prepare the bore: Ensure correct STI core hole diameter. Drill if necessary (drill not included).
3. Cut the STI thread: Use the STI short tap BSF 7/8 × 11 with cutting oil, keeping the tool aligned.
4. Prepare the insert: Mount the insert on the inserting tool and adjust the locking ring.
5. Insert the coil: Screw the insert into the STI thread until it sits flush or slightly below the surface.
6. Remove the tang: Break off the tang using a suitable tool.
7. Check the thread: Verify with a matching BSF 7/8 × 11 bolt.

Which materials can be repaired?
Suitable for aluminium, cast materials, brass and steels with limited shear strength where reinforcement is required.

Can I repair both blind and through holes?
Yes. V-COIL inserts work in both, as long as the installation depth and tang removal are properly considered.

How durable is the repaired thread?
If installed correctly, the resulting thread is often stronger than the original base material.

Do I need special machines?
No. The kit is made for manual use. Ensure accurate alignment and stable clamping.
