VÖLKEL HexTap VX M 8 x 1.25 – impact tap bit for impact wrenches
The VÖLKEL HexTap VX M 8 x 1.25 is an impact tap bit with an 11 mm hexagon drive for metric ISO threads to DIN 13. It is conveniently operated with an impact wrench and securely connected via a matching hexagon adapter. This lets you cut threads with high power while keeping precise control – in steel construction, mechanical engineering and wherever threads have to be produced quickly and reliably.
For size M 8 x 1.25, VÖLKEL recommends an impact wrench with 1/2" drive and the Adapter 1/2" x 11 mm (Art. No. 10912). The tap is made of ground solid HSS-E and TiAlN-coated for increased service life and better cutting results.

Application

Limitations
- Designed for through holes, not for blind holes.

Step by step
- Drill the core hole with a diameter of 6.8 mm.
- Push the Adapter 1/2" x 11 mm fully onto the drive of the impact wrench.
- Insert the HexTap VX with its 11 mm hexagon into the adapter as far as it will go.
- Apply a suitable cutting fluid, for example VÖLKEL Cutting Oil N3S.
- Position the tap at a right angle and cut the thread through the workpiece with controlled force.
- Switch to reverse, back the tap out and remove the chips.
- Check the thread with a screw or a thread gauge.
