Adapter 1/2"x11 mm

• Connects impact wrenches with 1/2" drive to HexTap VX impact tap bits with 11 mm hexagon drive.
• Intended for HexTap VX in sizes M 8 to M 16.
• For cutting threads in through holes in easily machinable, unalloyed and low-alloy materials up to 900 N/mm² – the application range of the HexTap VX.

Note The adapter is not a cutting tool. It transmits the torque from the impact wrench to the HexTap VX. Always position the tool straight in line with the hole axis.

Limitations

• For HexTap VX from M 18 to M 30, the Adapter 3/4" x 11 mm is intended, used with an impact wrench with 3/4" drive.

1. Choose the HexTap VX that matches the thread size and prepare the core hole. You can find the core hole diameter on the product page of each HexTap VX.
2. Push the adapter with its 1/2" square drive fully onto the drive of the impact wrench.
3. Insert the HexTap VX with its 11 mm hexagon into the adapter as far as it will go.
4. Apply a suitable cutting fluid, for example VÖLKEL Cutting Oil N3S.
5. Position the tool at a right angle to the hole and cut the thread with controlled force.
6. Switch to reverse, back the tap out and remove the chips.
7. Clean the adapter and drives after use and check them for wear.
