Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Preparation: Drill out the damaged thread to the correct core diameter (see chart), deburr edges and clean the hole.
  2. Cut STI thread: Use the STI hand tap M 39 × 4.0 with cutting oil; keep the tap perpendicular and feed evenly.
  3. Insert coil: Screw in the V-COIL free-running insert with the inserting tool until flush or slightly below the surface.
  4. Remove tang (if applicable): Carefully break off the drive tang using the correct tool.
  5. Inspection: Check with a screw or gauge; clean the repaired thread.
