Thread forming taps for tolerance class 6H, TiN coated
The TiN coating is hard and gold coloured. It lowers friction during forming and extends tool life, particularly in tough materials. A thread former does not cut — it presses the thread into the wall of the core hole without chips. Nothing is left in a blind hole that could jam later, and the grain structure is compacted.
VÖLKEL offers 27 versions to DIN 371 and DIN 376, in HSSE, from M 1 x 0.25 to M 16 x 2.0. The lead is in form C, TiN coated versions are included.
