1. Drill: Drill the core hole (or drill out the thread to be repaired) using the V-COIL STI drill.
2. Tap: Cut the holding thread with the V-COIL STI tap.
3. Load the insert: Screw the V-COIL notch insert onto the installation tool (the spring-loaded blade engages the driver notch).
4. Install: Screw the insert into the holding thread. Set the depth using the depth stop nut.
5. Release: Unscrew the tool again. The blade retracts automatically and releases the insert.
6. Check: Verify the repaired thread using a suitable screw.

What does “tangless” mean on V-COIL notch inserts?

You work without a break-off tang. That means no tang removal step and no risk of losing a tang inside the component.

Do you need to watch the installation direction of the insert?

No. The driver notches are present at both ends, so you don’t need to check which end faces forward.

Can you operate the installation tool with a cordless screwdriver?

Yes. The ¼" hexagon drive lets you use standard bit holders — by hand, with cordless tools, or on stationary machines.

What is the depth stop nut used for?

It helps you set and repeat the required screw-in depth. You lock it with the lock nut to keep the setting stable.

What happens after the target depth is reached?

You simply unscrew the installation tool. The spring-loaded blade retracts automatically and releases the insert.
