Hand taps for metric coarse thread

The metric coarse thread is the standard thread in German-speaking countries and across much of Europe. Nominal diameter and pitch are given in millimetres, and the flank angle is 60°. Hand taps are turned by hand in a tap wrench. The thread is cut in several passes, because the work is shared between taper, second and bottoming tap.

VÖLKEL offers 576 versions to DIN 352, ISO 2283 and ISO 529, in HSS-G and HSSE, from M 1 x 0.25 to M 100 x 6.0. Lead forms A, C and D cover through holes and blind holes, part of the range is steam tempered (VAP).
