V-COIL thread inserts for BSF, British Standard Fine
BSF is the fine series of the Whitworth system: the same 55° flank angle, but more threads per inch. Common on British vehicles and machines. A thread insert restores a stripped thread and can give it a load capacity above that of the original. The stainless steel wire coil is screwed into the hole after it has been drilled out and re-tapped with the STI tool.
