BA (brit. assn. thread)

Hand taps for BA, British Association thread

BA is the British series for very small threads, named after the British Association. It turns up in precision mechanics, electrical engineering and instruments; the size is given as a number, not as a diameter. Hand taps are turned by hand in a tap wrench. The thread is cut in several passes, because the work is shared between taper, second and bottoming tap.

VÖLKEL offers 28 versions to ISO 529, in HSS-G, from BA 0 x 25.4 to BA 6 x 47.92. Lead forms A, C and D cover through holes and blind holes.
