VÖLKEL Summer Party 2026: Sunshine, Games and 111 Years of VÖLKEL

Last Friday at VÖLKEL, things continued straight after work – just at a different pace. Instead of workbenches, desks or the usual production routine, summer weather, games, good food and many familiar faces were waiting on the company grounds. Together with employees, families and friends, we celebrated our summer party and also raised a glass to a very special anniversary: 111 years of VÖLKEL.

When a Working Day Turns into a Summer Evening

Friday began like any other day, with work, tasks and everything that still had to be done before the weekend. That made the moment all the nicer when the working day slowly faded into the background and the summer party began.

Instead of quick conversations in passing, there was time for longer talks. Instead of the next appointment, there was food, drinks and a place in the sun. Little by little, more and more colleagues, families and friends joined in, and the familiar company grounds became a place to sit together, laugh and simply arrive.

At first, the weather did not make it entirely easy for us: in the afternoon it was incredibly hot, but later it cooled down more and more. That meant we were still able to spend the evening outdoors comfortably.

Games That Automatically Make You Stop and Watch

Jenga, Connect Four and cornhole brought movement and good spirits to the afternoon. The nice thing about them was that no long explanation was needed. A quick round was played in no time, and often it did not stop at just one.

With Jenga, blocks were pulled out carefully, everyone held their breath for a moment, and by the time the tower fell, everyone was laughing together. With Connect Four, a casual game quickly turned into a small duel. And with cornhole, it became clear that just a few metres of distance can be enough to awaken a competitive spirit.

These small game moments fitted the afternoon perfectly. Not loud, not exaggerated, but simply relaxed and with plenty of opportunity to get talking to one another.

Bouncy Castle, Ice Cream Van and Plenty of Space for the Children

For the children, it was quickly clear where the action was. The bouncy castle was headed for straight away and remained well visited throughout the afternoon. While the children were having fun there, parents and colleagues were able to sit together, relax and enjoy the moment.

The ice cream van arrived at exactly the right time in that weather. An ice cream in your hand, the sun on your face and a short pause before things continued – sometimes a summer party does not need much more to feel like summer.

So it was not just a party for the employees, but an afternoon where families and friends naturally felt part of it too.

Good Food, Cocktails and a Relaxed Evening

For dinner, everything was prepared that felt just right after an afternoon outdoors. With good food, cool drinks and many conversations, the summer party gradually turned into a relaxed evening.

The cocktail bar, run by our own employees, was especially well received. It fitted perfectly with the relaxed atmosphere on the company grounds and gave the evening another personal touch.

So there was enough time to raise a glass together, let the day wind down and also talk to colleagues you do not necessarily sit with every day during normal working life.

111 Years of VÖLKEL: An Anniversary Celebrated Together

This year we are celebrating 111 years of VÖLKEL. Since 1915, VÖLKEL has been closely connected with threading tools and has experienced, built and further developed a great deal during that time. At the summer party, this anniversary was not presented as a major formal ceremony, but simply became part of the afternoon.

And perhaps that was exactly right. After all, 111 years of company history are not only made up of dates, products and developments. They are made up of people who contribute their part every day, of shared experiences and of moments that show a company is more than normal everyday work.

Between games, families, food and conversations, this anniversary was not staged in a big way, but simply celebrated together.

Dakar G-Class and SEC 500 as Real Eye-Catchers

Alongside the summer party atmosphere and rounds of games, there was also something technical to see. The VÖLKEL Dakar G-Class and the Mercedes SEC 500 from our races at the Nürburgring were also on display on the company grounds and repeatedly attracted curious looks.

The two vehicles quickly became a popular meeting point for photos, questions and short conversations. Anyone interested in motorsport or special technology automatically stopped to take a look. And even those who only walked past usually looked back again.

This gave the vehicles their own fixed place at the summer party: striking enough to be a highlight, but relaxed enough to simply be part of the day.

A Summer Party to Remember

Our summer party was a wonderful end to the working week and a successful start to a summer evening. With good weather, delicious food, cool drinks and many conversations, exactly the relaxed atmosphere such an afternoon needs came about.

111 years of VÖLKEL gave the party a special setting. But the focus was above all on the people who were there: employees, families and friends. It was precisely this mix that made the day so enjoyable.

In the end, many small impressions remain: the games outside, the children on the bouncy castle, the ice cream van, the cocktail bar, our vehicles on the company grounds and many conversations for which there is often too little time in everyday working life. That is exactly what made it a summer party we will gladly look back on.
