2nd VÖLKEL Hockey Day: Two days full of emotion and team spirit
On March 7 and 8, 2025, VÖLKEL Threading Solutions was all about ice hockey: the second VÖLKEL Hockey Day brought together employees, business partners and friends - for an event that will be remembered not only in sporting terms, but also emotionally.
Day 1: Goosebump moments in the PSD Bank Dome
To kick off the weekend, we attended Düsseldorf EG's (DEG) final game of the season against the Grizzlys Wolfsburg together. In the exclusive Löwen Lounge, we celebrated DEG's well-deserved 3:0 victory - a strong performance that raised hopes.
But at the same time, the tension in the stadium was palpable: All eyes were on the live stream of the parallel game in Iserlohn. Despite all the euphoria from their own game, things became bitterly serious towards the end: Augsburg's victory sealed DEG's sporting relegation. An emotional moment for all fans and a hard blow for the tradition-steeped club.
Day 2: On the ice yourself - with ex-professional Henrik Hölscher
Despite the sporting disappointment of the previous day, the motto on Saturday morning was: keep your head up and put your skates on! Under the professional guidance of Henrik Hölscher, former DEG professional, we completed an intensive and fun training session in the PSD Bank Dome.
Whether beginner or advanced, the team spirit was palpable and the focus was on having fun. For many, it was a very special experience to stand on the ice where the professionals normally play. An eye-catcher of a special kind: the jerseys in the exclusive VÖLKEL design.
Joint finale with Rhenish brewing art
After the sporting session, we moved on to the leisurely part of the day: We ended the day in the “Im Füchschen” brewery with Rhineland specialties, cold Altbier and lots of good conversation.
The mood was relaxed and the focus was on the future - in keeping with the VÖLKEL motto: solidarity, teamwork and enthusiasm.
Conclusion: An event that connects
The 2nd VÖLKEL Hockey Day was a complete success - despite sporting setbacks on the ice. Because what remains is the memory of a weekend full of team spirit, emotions and genuine community. A big thank you to everyone who took part - we are already looking forward to the next edition!
